How to Develop Personal Style: Style Star

In order to continue your research on what personal style really is and how to develop it, I would recommend looking at celebrities who exemplify a distinct personal style. Thanks to the paparazzi (though I can’t say I’m proud to thank them for anything), the evolution (or lack thereof) of a celeb’s style is heavily documented over their years of stardom. The ones who do it best have a distinct look or feeling that transcends time and trends. My personal favorite “style star” is Gwen Stefani. I relate to her style and her confidence in who she is has been apparent since her teens (making her a perfect example). Below are images of her on the covers of Vogue April 2004 and January 2013:

To see a full slideshow of her style evolution, check out Billboard’s here. Take notes! Her distinct style goes from head to toe. We’ll talk about this in a later post, but note that her hair and makeup (red lips!) have become a distinct feature that sets her apart (personal style!).

Best,

Lulu
